The Wilds ( TV series)

Sarah Streicher created the American drama streaming series The Wilds for Amazon Prime Video. On December 11, 2020, the first season was released on Amazon Prime Video and received positive reviews from critics, who praised the performances, writing, and plot. The series was renewed for a second season in December 2020, with the premiere date set for May 6, 2022. The series will conclude in July 2022.

Plot

Fatin Jadmani, Dot Campbell, Martha Blackburn, Rachel Reid, Shelby Goodkind, Nora Reid, Toni Shalifoe, and Leah Rilke are among a group of teenage girls from various backgrounds on an aeroplane when it crashes into the ocean while en route to Hawaii for the Dawn of Eve programme, a young women's empowerment retreat. They survive the crash but are stranded on a deserted island.

The girls are unaware that they are subjects of a social experiment as they work to survive as castaways and learn about each other; the plane crash was staged and their stranding was orchestrated by Gretchen Klein, the Dawn of Eve program's head. The girls' adventures on the island are intercut with flashbacks to their lives before the crash and flashforwards to an underground bunker where two men posing as FBI agents, Daniel Faber and Dean Young, interview the survivors after their alleged rescue.

The second season introduces a group of adolescent boys (Kirin O'Conner, Rafael Garcia, Josh Herbert, Seth Novak, Ivan Taylor, Henry Tanaka, Bo Leonard, and Scotty Simms) who are caught up in Klein's second orchestrated crash as part of the Twilight of Adam programme. The boys' stories emerge as they flash between their past, lives on the island, and questioning by Faber and Young, while the girls (still held in the bunker) begin to learn the truth about their situation and attempt to contact the boys.
